We offer ultrasound examinations on the most modern equipment. Our experienced radiologists in the field of diagnostic sonography will take the necessary time to examine and communicate with the patient.

The main areas of diagnostic organ sonography are:
Abdominal cavity and pelvis,
Neck organs,
Superficial soft tissues,
Specialized sonographic examination of the breasts,
Vessels of the neck,
Vessels of the abdominal cavity,
Vessels of upper and lower limbs.

Note: Ultrasound examination of the heart is performed in our cardiology outpatient clinic.

Consultation activity
Experienced radiologists will be glad to provide you with a consultation (consular) in the field of ultrasound, computer tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and interventional radiology.
For the consultation, you need to bring complete imaging documentation from previous imaging examinations related to your current health problem, ideally with a description of the examination. Photodocumentation and a recommendation for further examination or treatment will also be provided.

THE SPECTRUM OF OUR ULTRASOUND EXAMINATIONS INCLUDES THE EXAMINATION OF
Abdominal organs (liver, gallbladder and bile ducts, spleen, pancreas, kidneys and adrenal glands) and abdominal fluid collections
Neck organs (thyroid, salivary glands, lymph nodes)
Pleural cavities
Superficial soft tissue and peripheral lymph nodes
Transabdominal ultrasound of female pelvic organs (uterus, ovaries, bladder)
Transabdominal ultrasound of male pelvic organs (prostate, bladder)
Testicles
Breasts and regional lymph nodes
Dopplerography of blood vessels

FAQS:

IS ULTRASOUND DANGEROUS?

Diagnostic ultrasound (also known as sonography, ultrasonography, or USG) is a type of imaging test that allows rapid visualisation of various internal tissues of the human body, enabling the doctor to make a diagnosis and suggest further action. It uses high-frequency sound waves, inaudible to the human ear, to image internal organs. Because there is no radiation, sonography poses no risk to the patient, even with a high number of follow-up examinations. It is also safe for children and pregnant women.

WHAT CAN AN ULTRASOUND SCAN REVEAL?

Ultrasound provides the doctor with information about the size of the organs being examined, their internal structure and the presence of various pathologies. Because the tissues are imaged in real time during an ultrasound examination, it is also possible to see the movement of individual organs and the flow of blood in the blood vessels. The disadvantage of ultrasound is that it cannot pass through bone or air, so gas-filled organs such as the lungs cannot be examined by ultrasound, and the villi of the intestine cannot be examined by ultrasound.

IS THE SCAN PAINFUL?

In order for the ultrasound scan to provide the doctor with as much information as possible, it is necessary to apply sufficient pressure to the area being examined with a special probe, which can be uncomfortable for the patient. In general, however, ultrasound is a painless method of examination.

HOW LONG DOES A SCAN TAKE?

The length of the examination depends on the type of examination, the complexity of the findings and the time needed to write the report, but is usually 20-30 minutes.

IS ANY SPECIAL PREPARATION REQUIRED BEFORE AN ULTRASOUND SCAN?

If the abdominal organs are to be examined, the patient should fast for at least 4 hours, and on the day before the examination it is advisable to avoid foods that increase intestinal gas. Drinks should be unsweetened and non-bubbly, ideally plain water or unsweetened weak tea. It is not necessary to stop taking your medication.
It is necessary to have a full bladder during the pelvic examination. It is advisable to drink 0.5-1 litre of water about 1 hour before the examination.
No special preparation is required for ultrasound examinations of other organs.
Patients with diabetes coming for a pelvic examination are asked to inform us of their condition when booking - we will try to arrange an early appointment.
