Clinical endocrinology is primarily concerned with diseases of the endocrine glands. These glands include the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, suprarenal, adrenal, ovaries and testes. Diseases of the endocrine glands can be easily divided into conditions of dysfunction (when there is excessive or, on the contrary, insufficient production of hormones) and another group are tumors of the endocrine glands. The endocrinologist also deals with metabolic bone diseases and nutritional disorders.

The initial comprehensive endocrinological examination in our outpatient clinic includes:
Medical history - interviewing the patient to obtain the necessary information, reviewing the medical records brought in
Basic physical examination of the patient
Thyroid ultrasound (if necessary)
Evaluation of laboratory tests to be performed prior to the initial comprehensive endocrinologic evaluation
Recommendation for further management (diagnostic - if further investigation is needed and therapeutic - if treatment is needed)

We book patients we already know for an endocrinology follow-up. The purpose of this examination is to check the patient's condition after the start of treatment or to check for any abnormalities.

The telephone consultation after the examination is used to communicate the results of laboratory and other tests performed and to recommend further diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
