Premedix clinic offers daily infusion therapy in a modern environment, which is of great benefit for the treatment of pain, especially of the musculoskeletal system.
The daily infusion clinic provides the patient with a high level of comfort compared to hospitalisation. The usual duration of infusion is 40-50 min. The individual schedule and length of therapy is determined by the physician. Subsequently, the patient undergoes therapy at an individually determined time by mutual agreement.
Our day hospital offers infusion therapy tackling:
- musculoskeletal pain
- spinal pain (e.g. popped disc)
- headaches
- dizziness
- neuropathic pain
- vasodilator infusion therapy.
We consider vitamin C infusion (in the vast majority of cases) to be a commercial placebo,
that private clinics profit from, which is why you won't find it on our menu.
PRE-INFUSION INSTRUCTIONS
The infusion takes about an hour to administer, depending on the drug administered and the body's response to the drug. Should a headache or nausea occur during administration, it is necessary to slow the flow of the infusion and monitor the progress of the reactions. During the infusion, the nurse monitors the general condition of the patient, the injection site, and maintains a steady flow of fluid through the cannula.
Infusions are indicated exclusively by the doctor!
Adverse effects that may occur during administration include:
- headache
- feeling like vomiting or vomiting
- stomach upset
- fatigue, malaise
- rise in blood pressure
- inflammation of a vein, swelling at the injection site, pinching at the injection site
- local allergic manifestations (rash, redness)
- systemic allergic reaction (it is therefore important to inform staff of any existing allergy to the medication or to mention any previous reactions to the infusion treatment)
It is important to follow these instructions before the actual administration of the infusion:
- be well rested (administration after night duty is not recommended)
- stay away from driving after the infusion has been administered (some of the drugs administered may induce drowsiness)
- do not consume alcohol (this may reduce the effect of the medicine or increase side effects)
- report any allergy to the medication, material or allergic reaction in the past
- diet and fluid intake is not restricted
- take regularly taken medication
- have an empty bladder (for your better comfort)
